The dream of most young graduate is to secure a decent job after graduation, while others who has the required capital embrace entrepreneurship as they venture into businesses of their choice.

Securing a job in any government and private organization actually has not been easy for so many Nigerians, a lot of Nigerians believes that it’s only when you are highly connected or have a long leg that you can land that dream job, that believe is some how true as corruption, nepotism and favoritism are rife in Nigeria. I have seen lots of Nigerians who have actually gotten highly paid government jobs without knowing anyone.

Do a professional course : I will advise you to Boston your CV immediately after graduation by doing some professional courses that is related to your field of study as this will increase your chances in securing a job.

Start your job hunting early : a lot of young graduate start sending out CV immediately the monthly stipends from government stop coming (NYSC Alawee) this practice is wrong, it is wise for you to start sending your CV at least 3 months before your passing out parade.

Acquire some experience : always have it in mind that most organizations are looking for ways to minimize cost and maximize profits this is not limited to private firms only even government agencies are inclusive, never you turn down any job that is somehow related to your field because the poor salary attached to the job as this can give you relevant work experience that is needed in most highly sorted job. So when you see a job of let’s say 30k and it’s related to your field of study please embrace it as long as it will give you the relevant work experience.
